The Harrisonburg District Mission Center

The Children’s Clothes Closet was moved from McGaheysville UMC, where it had operated for 20 years to Mission Central.  The Children’s Clothes Closet is open to the public from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. Open to anyone in the community.

Other Wednesdays – 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – volunteer work at the Mission Center.

Needs:

*Children’s clothes from infant to 15 years old including winter coats
*Clean children’s shoes, socks, undergarments
*Disposable diapers – all sizes
*Volunteers to work at the Mission Center – Bi-lingual volunteers are especially needed

*A storage building is needed. Possibly 100 x 100’ or 80 x 100’. Plans are to build the storage building in the Spring. Information will be in the District Newsletter. Volunteers from throughout the District will be needed to build this building.

Future possibilities:
*Adult Clothing
*Medical closet (Wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, and other medical equipment available for loan) to
*A staff person at Mission Central familiar with Social Service Agencies that could provide information to families needing continual help.

If anyone has items to donate to the Children’s Clothes Closet and cannot bring them to Mission Central, please email or call the District Office at 540-433-2382.  Someone will come and pick up the items.
